The alleged incident took place on Sunday.

According to WTEN, the Saratoga Police Department have arrested a man they say tried to drug someone's drink at Gaffney's Restaurant located in Saratoga, New York.

Police said that someone in the bar watched Nicholas Lareau put a foreign substance into a drink with an eye dropper and once the male patron confronted Lareau about the incident, he left the bar immediately. The man who witnessed the drugging told bar security what happened and they contacted the local police.

Once police arrived on the scene they determined that nobody consumed any of the drugged drink and then located Lareau leaving a different establishment on Caroline Street and placed him under arrest.

After searching the man, the police did recover a dropper and a bottle that later tested positive for the drug MDMA, they also recovered several loose Xanax pills.

Lareau was charged with second degree attempted assault/administering a drug and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and once he was arraigned, he posted bail and was released.
