If you travel through the Ulster County area you may want to prepare yourself for some minor delays in the near future.

The Daily Freeman is reporting that the Rondout Creek Bridge, that connects Kingston and Port Ewen, will be going under a little bit of construction causing the bridge to shut down.

Construction begins Friday, Jan. 26 and motorists will be urged to use the Route 9W bridge to get to where they need to go. The Department of Transportation will be working on the bridge and around the area. Drivers must be aware of flaggers and new signs in the area.

There is no specific end date, but work will continue until the repairs are finished with weather pending.

Of course, if you are driving in the area and see signs for a construction zone, take the speed limit into consideration. If you are ticketed for going over said speed limit fines are doubled.
