Locals Invited to HBO Series Open Casting Call at MH Civic Center
If you want to be a part of the HBO limited series being filmed in our area, you'll need to get yourself to the Mid Hudson Civic Center.
Earlier this month it was announced that Mark Ruffalo would be starring in one of the biggest productions to ever be filmed in the Hudson Valley. I Know This Much Is True, a limited series based on the book by the same name, will be filmed throughout our area later this year.
Because the series will be filmed almost entirely in the Hudson Valley, producers are looking for locals to fill smaller speaking and non-speaking roles. An open casting call for local residents was scheduled for the IBM complex but has now been moved to the Mid Hudson Civic Center, most likely because of the number of people expected to show up for this rare opportunity.
If you'd like to be considered for a role in the upcoming HBO series, all you have to do is fill out the online sign-up sheet supplied by casting agent, Rita Powers. After filling out the form, candidates will be directed to appear at the open casting call on February 23. Only those who have filled out the form will be allowed to apply for a role at the casting call.
The form will also allow you to upload a "headshot," which does not need to be a professionally photographed picture. Because there are so many roles and extras that need to be cast for the production, Hudson Valley residents without professional headshots or experience are still encouraged to apply.
The series takes place from the 1920s through the 1990s, so all types of people and looks are needed. Those who are chosen should be available between the beginning of April until September of this year. That's when filming will take place throughout the area.
