This heartwarming story will raise your spirits for sure. Seeing our communities come together over the past couple of weeks has filled my heart with joy. Not only do we have local folks donating their time to help each other with food supplies for students but also caring for our furry friends as well.

Middletown Nissan made a very special donation to the Middletown Humane Society.

Middletown Nissan donated a vehicle to Middletown Humane Society. Thankfully, the humane society can safety transport their furry friends to veterinary appointments. This new vehicle allows them to pick up the needed donations. Kindness is contagious!

Middletown Humane Society is a no kill, privately run and nonprofit organization. They are seeking donations during this time. They open their arms to any donations that can be made. To donate, you can leave the items outside of their front door. A receipt of the donations that are made are available, simply leave a note that includes your information in which they will then mail you a receipt. You can also send donations through Amazon Smile. Amazon will donate a certain portion of your purchase to their shelter. Be sure to register with Middletown Humane Society and shop away.

Donations needed:

  • Paper towels and toilet paper
  • Bleach, Simple Green, Dawn Dish soap, dish detergent
  • Large trash bags,
  • Toilet paper
  • Disinfecting cleaners.
  • Dry and canned kitten, cat, puppy and dog food (Purina One sensitive skin/stomach)
  • Purina One dog and puppy food
  • Non clumping cat litter and wee wee pads
  • Rubber gloves

Also, if you would like to donate a Kuranda dog bed(s), that would also be helpful. Their dogs could always use a new one for their comfort. Here is the link to do so.

They are also reminding us that while we are quarantined and missing socializing, they have furry friends that are ready for their loving, furr- ever home. Middletown Humane Society will continue to process their adoptions by appointment only. To adopt and give a shelter pet a loving home, you can call them  to schedule an appointment. Adoption applications are available outside of their door and can be filled out online as well.

You can also join their mailing list by texting Middletown Humane to 22828 and provide your email address.

They have closed the shelter to the public until further notice for the safety of the staff and volunteers. They are continuing to give love and care to all of the animals

I hope that you enjoyed this heartwarming, local story. It shows that even in difficult times, we can come together and spread love and joy. It could change and benefit so many lives positively, keep it up friends! :)
