
Ulster County Woman Fights New York State Trooper After Robbery
Four people have been arrested following a liquor store robbery in Highland, NY, including a woman who allegedly started to fight a trooper after the incident.
Liquor Store Robbery in Highland, New York
According to the New York State Police, it all started around 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30th, when troopers were dispatched to a reported robbery at a liquor store on Route 9W in Highland, NY.
As troopers rushed to the scene, they located a vehicle allegedly used in the robbery, a white Nissan Murano traveling west on Route 44/5,5 and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
Traffic Stop Leads to Fight
Once the vehicle pulled over, troopers approached and found there were four people and two children in the car, including the driver, who was identified as 24-year-old Fonda Bressendorff. As troopers began to question Bressendorff, she allegedly began to fight the trooper, leading to an assault, according to WTEN.
Investigation Begins
Once the suspect was placed in custody, the NYSP began its investigation, which determined that Bressendorff and the three other individuals in the car were involved in an altercation with an employee at the liquor store.

Police identified two of the suspects as 22-year-old Jahnya Bressendorff and 20-year-old Jennifer Robertson. The other suspect, an 18-year-old, was not identified. Police said that Robertson got into a physical fight with an employee at the liquor store before leaving.
Arrested and Charged
All four suspects were arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree conspiracy, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, petit larceny, and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
The two children found in the car were given to a third party.
The driver, Fonda Bressendorff, was also charged with second-degree assault, as well as second-degree obstructing governmental administration and traffic tickets. Robertson was additionally charged with tampering with physical evidence.
All four were arraigned in Ulster County Jail CAP Court on July 31st and sent to the Ulster County Jail.
