Legendary Westchester Deli Opening Hudson Valley Location
A popular local deli in Westchester is opening up a second location right here in the Hudson Valley.
Froggy's Deli in Somers has been in business for over 30 years. This local landmark on Route 100 is currently run by three brothers. Tony, Bob and John are all in their late 20s, but combined, they have over four decades of pizza, deli and restaurant experience.
Known for their famous egg sandwiches, Froggy's deli opens early in the morning and serves eggs all day long. The only day Froggy's closes down is on Christmas, otherwise you'll find one of the brothers serving sandwiches and pizzas every day of the year.
The deli has become more than just a place for food. Froggy's has been an important part of the community in Northern Westchester and Putnam counties, vowing to stay open under the toughest of circumstances. Equipped with generators, Froggy's serves as a lifeline for people during weather emergencies. They remained open during Hurricane Sandy, helping people and emergency workers going through the cleanup effort.
Now Froggy's is opening up a brand new location at 31 Route 22 in Pawling, right across the street from AutoZone. Just like their Westchester store, the deli will be open every day except for Christmas. According to their Facebook page, hours are expected to be from 5:30am to 3pm seven days a week. The Pawling location will not have a pizzeria, but will serve all of Froggy's famous deli items, including their egg sandwiches.
Opening day is slated for April 3.
