Learn How to Snowshoe
If you have ever wanted to learn how to snowshoe this is something you must attend.
According to the Daily Freeman, the folks over at Minnewaska State Park are now offering, what they are calling, "Drop In Snowshoe Lessons."
The lessons will take place every Saturday at 11 a.m. at Sam's Point through the months of January, February and March.
If you are a beginner and are interested in trying out snowshoeing as a new winter activity these sessions are just for you.
Sam's Point employees will run the sessions and provide instructions on how to properly wear and adjust snowshoes. They will also help people at the sessions when they are ready to head out on trails. Each session will last about an hour or so.
If you need to rent snowshoes, they will be available at the Sam's Point Visitors Center at $5 per person.
Sam's Point Nature Preserve is at 5281 Route 44/55 in Wawarsing.
