Lauren Alaina and her dance partner Gleb Savchenko gave their final performances on Dancing With the Stars on Monday night (Nov. 25). The pair earned a perfect score to close out their time on the 28th season of the TV dancing competition, and placed fourth in the competition overall.

"When I started this journey, I didn't know a thing about dancing ... I had no idea what I was signing up for," Alaina admitted prior to her first dance of the night. "It has been such a rewarding experience ... I have grown in every way: physically, mentally, spiritually ... This show has changed me forever."

Alaina and Savchenko's first Dancing With the Stars finale performance, a repeat dance, was a foxtrot to Dolly Parton's "Jolene" -- a dance they previously performed, to the same song, in Week 4 of the competition. The judges awarded them 27 of a possible 30 points.

"You really bring the character to life. You perform it!" DWTS judge Bruno Tonioli told Alaina. Fellow judge Len Goodman praised her mix of "flair and care."

Alaina and Savchenko's second performance of the night, a freestyle, was to Luke Bryan's "Country Girl (Shake It for Me)." Alaina showed off her fancy line-dancing footwork, and even got to grab a mic to sing a few notes.

"This was the perfect freestyle for you ... I have adored watching your whole journey," judge Carrie Ann Inaba told Alaina after the performance. She and her fellow judges awarded Alaina and Savchenko a perfect 30 points -- their first of the season -- for the dance.

Alaina and Savchenko competed in the Dancing With the Stars Season 28 finale against comedian Kel Mitchell, former Bachelorette contestant Hannah Brown and Fifth Harmony member Ally Brooke. Brooke came in third, Mitchell placed second, and Brown won the competition's Mirror Ball Trophy.

"Gleb has been the perfect partner for me. Any obstacle I've had to overcome has been so worth it," Alaina gushed of her partner, holding back tears. Savchenko, meanwhile, told the singer that she as made him "a better teacher and a better human being."

Alaina is far from the first country artist to compete on Dancing With the Stars: Wynonna JuddChuck WicksSara EvansBilly Ray Cyrus, and Jana Kramer also previously appeared on the show. Kellie Pickler won the show back in 2013, while country radio DJ Bobby Bones won the show's 27th season in 2018; in fact, it was Bones who convinced Alaina to accept the competitor spot. The show pairs celebrities with professional dancers, with the pairings competition in an elimination-style competition until a winner is crowned at the end of the season.
