Kohl's Announces They're Closing 27 Underperforming Stores

A popular clothing store is closing up over 20 locations this weekend. ABC News is reporting that Kohl's will be closing 27 under performing locations the weekend of March 28th.

According to ABC, the announcement was made back in January of 2025. At the time Kohl's Chief Executive Officer said in a statement "As we continue to build on our long-term growth strategy, it is important that we also take difficult but necessary actions to support the health and future of our business for our customers and our teams."

ABC goes on to add that in May Kohl's will close their e-commerce fulfillment center in San Bernardino California. The fulfillment center is closing due to the Kohl's shifting to "fulfilling online orders directly from store locations."

That has costumers wonder what does this mean for New York Kohl's locations?

Are Kohl's Stores Closing in New York?

ABC New is reporting that 27 locations are closing in March of 2025.

Thankfully, none of these locations are in New York State.

With the closure, there are still 1,12o Kohl's stores still in operation. Closures will, however, happen in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah and Virginia.

Closed Businesses so Far in 2025

We're not even halfway through the year yet, and a handful of big name businesses are closing their doors for good.

We recently learned popular fabric and crafting store JOANN was going out of business after filing for Chapter 11, twice in less than a year.
