Kingston, NY High School Student Selected to Play in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
An Ulster County teenager will be celebrating Thanksgiving in the spotlight this year.
Congratulations are in order for 12th grader, Kaitlyn Cardis of Kingston High School. Cardis is a member of the Kingston High School Tiger Band, her instrument of choice is the piccolo and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is now recognizing her talents.
Kingston High School Student to Perform at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
On Facebook, Kingston High School announced that Cardi will marching and playing for the second year at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. In a statement, Kingston High School writes:
Congratulations to Kaitlyn Cardis, a Grade 12 student in the KHS Tiger Band, who has been selected to play her piccolo for the second year in a row in the upcoming Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade! She will play with The Macy's Great American Marching Band!
To be selected for this honor, students from all over the country submitted auditions showcasing their musical and marching talents. Tune in and cheer on Kaitlyn this holiday!
New Additions to the 2023 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
Besides catching Kaitlyn crushing it with her piccolo, you can see a ton of new floats and balloons making their way to Harold's Square.
New inflatables for 2023 include Kung Fu Panda's Po, The Pillsbury Doughboy, and Beagle Scout Snoopy. As for floats, 90s kids will love this...a Good Burger Mobile! There's also a new Willy Wonka float and a Solo Stove float!
The list of performers includes Chicago, Pentatonix, Brandy, Cher, Paul Russell and many more.
