A well known Kingston Fire House will be up for auction today, May 12th.

According to the Daily Freeman, the Rapid Hose Company 1 firehouse, which closed it's doors March 31st of this year, will be up for auction today starting at 10am. Built in 1861, the firehouse holds "no historic designation" however it is located in the historic district so the winning bidder must comply with the district rules, according to Corporation Counsel Kevin Bryant.

The auction is open to the public and no need to pre-qualify to participate in the auction. Rapid Hose Company 1 is located at 85 Hone Street, in Kingston. If you do happen to bid on the firehouse and win, you must pay 10% of the price the day of the sale. Bidding for the 19th century firehouse starts at $100,000
