Kelly Clarkson has had a darn good week. Not only did she impress during her hosting gig at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 20), but she also got to celebrate Tuesday (May 22) as her The Voice protege Brynn Cartelli took home the prize as the youngest finalist and winner in the show's history.

Not bad for a few days of work, right?

However, what the first-time The Voice coach seemed really excited about following the live show was the fact that she actually ended up beating Blake Shelton, whom she has exchanged banter with throughout the season. He also happens to be the most victorious coach in The Voice history, with six wins under his belt.

In fact, Shelton even promised that he would refer to her as "Queen Kelly" if she ended up winning.

“Don't think I’m not waiting,” Clarkson admitted, laughing after Tuesday’s show when asked if Shelton had actually used that deferential term yet. “I haven’t checked my phone, but I’m gonna hold him to it!"

However, she didn't seem too optimistic he'd come through: "He ain’t gonna say it – he ain’t gonna follow through.”

Ball's in your court, Blake.

While Clarkson would love to hear those words come out of Shelton's mouth, the truth of the matter is that she is simply thrilled that a woman managed to engineer the big win. She noted that it was her and fellow female coach Alicia Keys' mission "to beat the cowboy,” as she puts it. “So, success!”

Certainly, all eyes will be on Clarkson and Shelton come June 6, as both have been announced as performers at the 2018 CMT Music Awards, set to air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
