Kelly Clarkson is a busy woman. The singer and mom of two recently released her new album, Meaning of Life, and with promoting the project and raising her kids, she has little time for romantic date nights with her husband. That's where James Corden comes in.

Clarkson was a guest on The Late Late Show this week (Nov. 29), and the host had a surprise romantic date for Clarkson and husband Brandon Blackstock up his sleeve.

"I think it's difficult because obviously I work a lot and I'm a mom, but we try," Clarkson admits when prodded about one on one time with her hubby during Carpool Karaoke.

"I feel like you might need to reconnect somehow," Corden says, telling the singer: "If you go jump in the back of the car, just wait right there."

A bit confused, but willing to give it a try, Clarkson asks if Corden has set up an intervention. Corden then brings in a little table with a rose on it to set in the back of the car just as Blackstock gets in. He pours the couple champagne and advises, "Just pretend I'm not here."

The date is a success, with Clarkson and her hubs sipping faux champagne and Blackstock feeding her chocolate-covered strawberries before a violinist enters the car to serenade them.

"Okay. It's a date night. The kids aren't here," Clarkson observes. Her husband isn't totally comfortable, though. "I feel like we're making a porn. There's a lot of gimmicks," he admits.
