World Atlas highlighted 10 towns in New York State being "US Favorites In 2026". On this list, they gave a shoutout to Saratoga Springs, Skaneateles, Geneva, Cooperstown, Ithaca and Canandaigua for upstate New York.

I've been to Skaneateles and Saratoga Springs before and I agree that these towns should be on the list!

World Atlas also included these popular Hudson Valley towns on their list as well. We can say congratulations to Cold Spring, Narrowsburg, Saugerties and Woodstock as they are highlighted as also being favorites in New York State.

I'm looking to explore the trolley in Cold Spring and that area is known for views of the river in addition to local shopping options.

Narrowsburg has beautiful scenic views of the area along with close proximity to the Delaware River with outdoor activities to enjoy. We can check out the Saugerties light house while in this Ulster County area along with a cute main street scene.

It makes sense that Woodstock made the list because this is one of the most beloved towns in New York State. Personally, I love exploring it's Tinker Street, attending drum circles there and shopping from their local boutiques. It has a rich history of musicians as well.

In addition to these Hudson Valley towns, I would also say that New Paltz in Ulster County should be added to the list and Beacon in Dutchess County as well!

There truly is something for everyone to experience in New Paltz. They have great hiking trails, local eateries and shops to check out too. Theres a bunch of fun historical facts about New Paltz including it relating back to the 17th century.

Beacon is great because we can park our cars and walk around the area to see all that it has to offer. Their Main Street including murals to check out along with restaurants and bars. Theres hiking trails nearby too.
