On Friday June 7th, traffic on the New York State Thruway came to a standstill near New Paltz, NY after a crash between a tractor trailer and a New York State Thruway Authority (NYSTA) maintenance vehicle.

Luckily, no fatalities were reported in the incident, but the aftermath (below) shows just how lucky the truck driver and NYSTA employee were to have survived. Surprisingly, that wasn't the last stop for the truck in the Hudson Valley.

Crowds Gather to See Crashed Tractor Trailer in Kingston, NY

While Perry's Towing deals with disabled vehicles daily, an employee called the damage to the tractor trailer "extreme", which may account for the small crowd of people witnessed the following afternoon, taking pictures of the truck and wondering aloud what exactly was the cause of the accident. Unfortunately, the crash wasn't an isolated incident.
