New Mister Softee/Nathan’s Brings 1st East Coast Store to H.V.
First things first...has everyone on the east coast been in the dark about this combo eatery? Obviously we have our share of Nathan's locations in the Hudson Valley, and if you aren't familiar with the Mister Softee truck, well, that's a conversation for another day. However, the news of a recent business opening in the lower Hudson Valley has locals asking how long has something like this existed?
An Ice Cream & Hot Dog History Lesson
Since 1956, Mister Softee has been serving up delicious sweet treats across the United States. Currently, there are over 625 trucks, and over 350 franchise dealers across 18 states, with Mister Softee leading the way as the largest franchiser of soft ice cream trucks in the U.S.
You can't tell us this iconic tune doesn't immediately bring back a vivid childhood memory....
On the other hand, Nathan's Hot Dogs first began in 1916 at the iconic Coney Island as a nickel hot dog stand, and now have more than 100 locations across the nation. The official hot dog of Major League Baseball since 2017, the brand is also quite well known for their annual hot dog eating contest on the 4th of July.

Yorktown Heights Now Home to First East Coast Mister Softee and Nathan's
A new 'combo' store in Yorktown Heights is officially the first east coast location of Mister Softee and Nathan's. Although they've been dishing out ice cream, hot dogs and more since the summer, the official ribbon cutting and grand opening just recently took place, and with a great turnout, too. Each side of the house does offer their own complete unique menus, plus there's also stocked freezers of to-go items, the option for cake orders, and even some surprising offerings like acai bowls.
Located at 1992 Commerce Street in Yorktown Heights, and open 11am until 9pm seven days a week, the Mister Softee and Nathan's in Yorktown has opened to excellent reviews and a staff thankful for the warm reception into the community:
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support and enjoy our delicious Mister Softee treats and Nathan's favorites. It was incredible to see so many smiling faces, and we're excited to be part of this amazing community! If you missed it, don't worry-we're here and ready to serve up all your favorites. We can't wait to see you again soon!
