Citi Field, New York Mets Host First Ever 'Singles Night Out'
The New York Mets took the phrase playing the field to a whole different level on Thursday, August 27th, as they hosted the first ever 'Singles Night Out' at Citi Field. The event took place during an actual ballgame, and was created in collaboration with Liv Schreiber of Hot & Social, inviting singles to watch the game and mingle.
Tickets for the event, which did end up selling out, included early entry to the ballpark for a mingle with 'hundreds of local singles,' wristbands that indicated your relationship status and exactly what you were looking for. There were also icebreakers and interactive conversation starters coordinated throughout the ballpark, and even the option to submit photos and information to be displayed on CitiVision during the game, all of this according to Secretnyc.com.
'Free Agents' Participate In Sell Out Singles Mingle During Ballgame
KVUE reports that the event was a sellout, with more than 1,300 tickets sold for the specialty singles targeted aspect of Thursday night's Mets game against the Brewers. The initial plan was to cap the event at 1,000, but demand indicated otherwise.

Participants reported that more women than men registered for the event, but many seemed to agree that having the Mets, or even just a general interest in going to a ballgame as a commonality helped them hit it off.
