Fishkill, New York Launches ‘Are You Ok’ Initiative
In an effort to provide an additional sense of security for their residents, one Dutchess County town has implemented what they are calling a 'telephone reassurance program' to touch base with members of the community.
Welfare Check Program Implemented in Fishkill, NY
There's been an overwhelmingly positive response from community members in Fishkill following the announcement of a new program just a few days ago.
Called the "Are You OK?" Program, the Town of Fishkill Police Department shared information on Friday August 16th about this initiative that will provide 'a little extra sense of security' for residents that may need it.
The program is described as follows:
Each day, at prearranged times, our system will call the resident’s home to check on their welfare. If after two attempts to contact the resident by telephone there is no response, an officer will be personally assigned to check their welfare.
How Can Residents Sign Up?
This free service provided by the Town of Fishkill Police is not intended to replace any other initiatives like Lifeline, Lifephone, etc., but rather can be used as a supplement to other programs.
To sign up for the 'Are You OK" program, an application must be filled out and dropped off to the Fishkill Police Department at 801 Route 52, or the Fishkill Recreation Center at 793 Route 52.
