Two New York Cities Make List of Places Crawling With Bed Bugs
There are several cities in New York State that are great places to be, and that often means our towns in our favorite state find themselves on all sorts of lists.
Whether it's a list of top tourist destinations like Niagara Falls, New York City, or Buffalo topping the list of the coolest places for the British to hang out in the summer, we love being at the top of lists.
However, there is one list that was just released that I don't think anyone wants to be on, and unfortunately, this isn't the first time these two New York Cities made the list.
Buffalo and New York City Make the US' Top Cities Infested With Bed Bugs
Orkin released its annual list of cities that are the most infested with Bed Bugs in the entire United States of America, and New York's two largest cities made the list... Again.
According to the New York State Department of Health, Bed Bugs have been around for thousands of years and will likely be around for a lot longer.
Bed bugs are small, flat wingless insects that are reddish-brown in color and approximately one-quarter inch long, before feeding (about the size and shape of a small apple seed). They feed on blood, but are not known to spread any diseases to humans. Some people can be allergic to their bites. Getting rid of a bed bug infestation is not easy, but there are steps you can take to control the problem. There are also steps you can take to avoid bringing bed bugs home.

Buffalo - 29th Most Bed Bug Infested City
Moving down one spot from last year, Buffalo sits right in the middle of the pack of the most infested cities in the country. Buffalo has had a Bed Bug program for a while, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.
New York City - 2nd Most Bed Bug Infested City
Moving up one spot from last year, The Big Apple holds 2nd place for the worst infestations of bed bugs. Perhaps the one bright side is that at least it's not number one.
