This Saturday you can grab some BBQ and a fried pickle while you hop a helicopter ride and sample refreshing hard cider. It is time for the Hudson Valley Cider Fest at Barton Orchards in Poughquag. The festival starts at 2pm and runs until 6pm. However, if you buy a VIP ticket you get an extra hour of sampling.

Here are some highlight from last year's event.

My personal favor hard cider is made by Doc's Hard Cider. Their Pear Cider is perfect for any time of year. In the summer it adds bubbles to Sangria. In the fall it is perfect as a substitute for Prosecco with cheese and fall fruits. In the winter it adds sweet bubbles to the holidays and in the spring it offers a refreshing choice to a dressing on fresh farm greens.
