Each week on ‘In Touch’, our locally produced public affairs program, I have the pleasure of talking with individuals and organizations from all over the Hudson Valley. We focus on non-profit organizations and volunteers who are working hard to help make all of our communities better places to live, work, and raise our families.

This week, Brian Doyle, Chief Executive Officer of Family Services, stopped by our studios to talk about the many programs and services that help so many in our community such as youth and family programs, community safety programs, crime victims assistance, victims services, and more.  Family Services offer a victim centered approach and have been helping families and individuals in the Hudson Valley for over 135 years.

We also talked about their annual event ‘Walk a Mile in Her Shoes’. The International Men’s March to stop rape, sexual assault, and gender violence. Each year this event gets bigger and better and helps raise much needed funds. It's also a lot of fun as men from the Hudson Valley put on high heels and literally walk a mile in her shoes. This year's event will be held on Saturday, October 15 at All Sport Health & Fitness in Fishkill, with registration starting at 9 am.
