Each Sunday, we feature ‘In Touch’, our locally produced public affairs program. On this show, I have the pleasure of talking with individuals and organizations from all over the Hudson Valley who are working hard to help make all of our communities better places to live, work, and raise our families.

This week Christina Boryk, the Executive Director for Rebuilding Together Dutchess County, stopped by and got us caught up with all of the good work they have been doing.  They have one of their two, yearly National Rebuilding Days coming up on April 28 when they will be working on 5 homes throughout Dutchess County.

They have been serving Dutchess County and helping homeowners stay in their homes since the 1970’s when they were first known as Christmas in April. They work to help individuals who are making tough decisions about home repairs and medicine or food have a safe and healthy home. If you or someone you know would like to find out more about how they might be able to help you, click here.

They also have a Fire Safety and Light It Up program in conjunction with the American Red Cross, where Rebuilding Together Dutchess County will come and check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in homes and replace as needed. If you would like information on how to volunteer or donate to this program, head here. Just call 845-454-7310 to get more information. There are no income requirements for either of these programs.

If you need help, please ask, that's what they're here for.
