In Touch: Big Read Program with Poughkeepsie Public Library
This week on "In Touch," we spoke with Jewel from the Poughkeepsie Public Library System. We spoke about a special program that the library does each year called "The Big Read." The special program is underway until about the first week of November.
This year, author Wendy Wan-Long Shang is the focus of "The Big Read." We speak about a few of books, which include, "Everything I Never Told You," and "The Great Wall of Lucy Wu."
As part of "Big Read Program," there are numerous events for the month of October and on into the first week of November. There is a full calendar of events, on the library's website. A bit of something for everyone, from young to old. The program will wrap with a special concert by the Hudson Valley Philharmonic at the Bardavon in Poughkeepsie.
Of course the Poughkeepsie Library, is made up of a number of smaller libraries in the area. Jewel, always spends sometime talking about the great resources at the library.
"In Touch" airs Sunday mornings across the Townsquare Media Stations within the Hudson Valley.
