Whether you like to hike, walk, rock climb, bird watch, bike, or simply enjoy nature, there's many national and state parks in the Hudson Valley that have what you are looking for. They're beautiful and majestic and they are open for all to come and explore and enjoy, but even our parks need a little love and attention every now and then. That's where 'I Love My Park Day' comes in.

According to the Parks & Trails of New York, I Love My Park Day is organized by the  Parks & Trails of New York;  the New York State Office of Parks,Recreation, and Historic Preservation; and numerous local organizations all to help maintain and enhance our parks, as well as to increase visibility about the needs in our local parks.

The 5th annual 'I Love My Park Day' will be May 7 and there are plenty of events scheduled for you and your family, or you and your organization, to get involved with. There are clean-up, improvement and beautification projects to help out with, you may plant trees or gardens, restore walking trails, help repair buildings, or help fix other pressing issues. Click here for the list of participating parks in the Hudson Valley.

Registration is now open for these events, so start texting your family and friends, send them messages on Facebook and join thousands of New Yorkers across the state as we volunteer to help keep our parks looking great and keep them going for generations to come.
