Hudson Valley Parents Made This the Most Watched Video Ever
I've done the math and the numbers are shocking!
If you missed the big news that Youtube has officially released the name of the one video that has been watched over 10 billion times on the video-sharing platform and if you are a Hudson Valley parent with kids under 10 you deserve to shoulder some of the blame for this now being stuck in our heads for the rest of the day.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the video for the children's song "Baby Shark Dance" is now officially the first video to hit the 10 billion mark, it's also been the most viewed video for the last 15 months. The video was released back in 2016 and still today and second place isn't even close with the second most-viewed video being "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, which has 7.7 billion views.
Should my fellow Hudson Valley parents offer up an apology for letting this happen and for now having this song stuck in everyone's heads all over again?...LOL! An apology is a reach, but I know that I had a hand in this...honestly, my kids loved it when it came out and I have to say I m guilty of adding a good thousand or so clicks to the video count. Even when my kids weren't watching I would watch and sing and dance along because I wanted to show them I was hip! Yup, I thought that it was hip!....LOL!
How many views of Baby Shark is the Hudson Valley responsible for?
After doing the math, the Hudson Valley definitely had a big hand in getting it to 10 billion. The Hudson Valley has around 950,000 people in it right now and if everyone watched it around 10 times, we are responsible for almost 10 million of the views! Add in parents like me that watched it way more than 10 times and we are responsible for at least 20 million views.
On behalf of all parents, "I apologize to everyone for all of this and for the song now being stuck in your head once again. My bad!"
