On Tuesday around 10:20 a.m., the Columbia County Sheriff deputies were dispatched by Columbia County 911 to help at ADM Milling for a reported cardiac arrest in an elevator chute.

Upon arrival and investigation, it was determined that an industrial accident occurred, which resulted in the death of an ADM employee, police say.

“This morning, an ADM colleague was involved in a fatal accident while working at ADM’s flour mill in Hudson, New York. We are working with local authorities to investigate the situation surrounding the incident at this time," an ADM spokesperson said in a statement, according to ABC.

The victim, from Ghent, was recovered by the Columbia-Greene Technical Rescue Team along with the New York State Forest Rangers and ADM Milling staff. The victim's name hasn't been released. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

"At this time in the investigation, foul play is not suspected and appears to be a tragic accident," the Columbia County Sheriff's Office said in a press release.
