A Hudson Valley town is adding body worn cameras for Officers who are out on patrol.

The Wappingers Falls Police Commissioner Carl Calabrese announced Monday in a news release the implementation of body worn cameras for Officers patrolling the Village of Wappingers Falls.

Commissioner Calabrese hopes to further community relations by promoting transparency. Calabrese chose Vie Vu body cameras (pictured above) for his Officers to wear.

Many police departments have implemented body cameras for their officers. Body cameras provide objective evidence of what happened, rather than hear say.

Earlier this week, the House of Representatives passed a Bill that restricts requests for the footage from the body cameras.
