We received word this week that we would have the opportunity to participate in a really fantastic event going on Wednesday.

Starting at midnight, you will have the chance to help a local organization that you feel passionate about.

Hudson Valley Gives is the first ever online fundraising event created by the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan with help from the Mid Hudson Valley Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region. Local nonprofit organizations will join forces tomorrow and multiply the resources made available to each organization.

There are many nonprofits you can donate to, including UlsterCorps and Rocky's Refuge or a charity that is near and dear to your heart. You'll have a full 24 hours to get your donations in. The organizers of the regional day of giving hope to raise $240,000 in a day. Find out more information by checking out the HVGives website.

Elizabeth Rowley President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan stopped by the CJ in the Morning show to discuss how HVGives came about and what you can do to help the Hudson Valley Community:

Donations will be accepted until 11:59pm tonight.
