One firefighter was injured following a fire at near Marist College.

On Saturday around 4:15 p.m., the Fairview Fire District along with the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department were dispatched for a reported fire with multiple calls at Star Gas, on Fulton Street in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a large building that was being used to store propane service trucks with dense smoke coming from the structure. Fairview Firefighters immediately called a second alarm of fire to bring additional resources to the scene.

The fire was declared under control at approximately 5:11 pm and was contained to a single building, according to the Fairview Fire District.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury, officials say. The fire is currently under investigation.

In addition to the City of Poughkeepsie, Fairview was assisted at the scene by the Roosevelt Fire District, Arlington Fire District, Lagrange Fire District, New Hamburg Fire District, Hughsonville Fire District, Mobile Life Support Services, Town of Poughkeepsie Police, Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response, Dutchess County Sherriff’s office, and the Town of Poughkeepsie Fire Inspector. Providing standby was the Pleasant Valley Fire District.
