On Monday, Laura Greco of Monroe tried to support a local business and ordered takeout using DoorDash. She was left shocked and disgusted after she reviewed her Ring surveillance video. The video can be seen below.

The video appears to show the delivery person bending down and sneezing near the order. The delivery woman then appears to rub her other hand around her mouth before using that hand to ring the doorbell—all while not wearing gloves.

Greco believes the act was intentional but noted on Facebook she wasn't sure.

A spokesperson told Hudson Valley Post the company deeply regrets the customer's experience fell short. They are continuing to look into the situation. The customer has been refunded and they are continuing to reach out to the dasher to get her side of the story.

"This in no way shape or form reflects the average experience a customer receives and we hope our customers know all the things we have done to promote safety for our customers and dashers during these unusual times," the spokesperson said.

Last week, DoorDash CEO Tony Xu announced DoorDash is in the process of shipping more than one million sets of free hand sanitizer and gloves to Dashers and Caviar couriers along with taking other safety measures.

The spokesperson also stressed to Hudson Valley Post that DoorDash hopes this single incident doesn't stop other people from continuing to support local businesses.

According to Greco, the company responded to her about the situation on Tuesday.

"They have my dasher’s info and will be contacting the area manager, she will be forced to be tested for Covid-19 as well all of the drivers in his area. They have sent this case to their medical and legal departments," Greco wrote on Facebook.
