One of the biggest questions asked at this time of the year is "What are you going to be for Halloween?" If you have kids, you know that they probably want to wear their favorite cartoon character or super hero costume, but how safe are those costumes?

The folks at Good Housekeeping have once again come to our aid by testing costumes that are either available in stores or on-line. They are specifically looking at flammability. A costume fails their test if it doesn't meet the federal flammability regulation, which means that if the flame spreads in less than 3.5 seconds, then it's not safe.
