Last Friday I had the opportunity to hang out with a few listeners at the Forest of Fear in Tuxedo, New York. It was all my idea for our "Spend of Day with Jess" contest, so I knew what I was getting myself into. Or so I thought.
I love Halloween and watching creepy TV shows or movies. But my idea of creepy isn't Nightmare On Elm Street or Texas Chainsaw Massacre. No. My speed is more on the lines of Hocus Pocus and Ghostadventurers. I'm a big baby.
When I got to the Forest of Fear, my heart was racing. Our group got into line and it started right away. There was a fabulous Santa Claus and a terrifying man with worms on his face who asked if we wanted a snack, then proceeded to hand us maggots. Gross. The walk through the Forest of Fear was like being in a high energy show and you were the star. The actors was on point the whole night and scaring the wits out of us (me) around every corner. Clowns, cousins, a hazardous spa. It seemed never ending, but exciting throughout.
At one point, what looked like framed mirror opened up and scared the living daylights out of me. That mirror also had a man with a camera behind it who caught my scare first hand:

That about sums it up. It was the most terrifying fun I've had in a while and I can't wait to go back next year. Also, I had knives thrown at me...you know, because I like living on the edge.
