Country Kids Popcorn Shop in Hopewell Junction, NY

Country Kids Popcorn, located in the Taconic Plaza at 2593 Route 52 in Hopewell Junction, NY, opened one of the first brick-and-mortar popcorn and kettle corn stores in the Hudson Valley in May 2020.

When they opened, popcorn lovers from far and wide praised the amazing selection of flavored popcorn, including flavors like sriracha, habanero maple bourbon, birthday cake, cookies & cream, and many more.

They also featured an amazing selection of kettle corn flavors, including blue raspberry, cinnamon crunch, patriotic pop, creole, and more. The flavors and selection were fantastic, but with all good things, it appears that they have popped their last kernel.

Dutchess County Popcorn Shop Makes Huge Announcement

After five years, Country Kids Popcorn has announced that they have closed for the final time on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, according to a recent post on social media. The post stated,

"It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that Country Kids Popcorn will be closing due to an ongoing personal issue. We cannot thank our staff and our customers enough for all of the love and support over the years! We have made so many friends and our popcorn family and I will miss you all. Thank you"

We reached out to the owner of Country Kids Popcorn, Deb Bedrosian, to see if we could get more information regarding the reason one of our favorite places was closing. Deb told us that closing the popcorn store will give her the time needed to focus on her new passion, a newly formed nonprofit organization called the Silent No More Foundation.

Bedrosian explained that the foundation's powerful mission is to raise awareness and advocate for victims of childhood sexual abuse.

"My daughter and I started this Foundation to help children find their voice," said Bedrosian.

The foundation founded by Bedrosian was started after recent life events forced her to revisit her painful past that involved childhood sexual abuse, according to the foundation's website. Deb bravely shares her own story of surviving childhood abuse in hopes of helping others who might be dealing with similar circumstances.

"My name is Deb Bedrosian. I am a childhood sexual abuse survivor and I will be Silent No More!," said Bedrosian. "It is time for all of us to start talking. Abuse, sex, mental health: all of these topics must be talked about openly in order to start fixing the stigma. There is a problem; in your state, your county, your community, and your neighborhood!"
