Overnight Robbery at Drug Store in Dutchess County

The home of one of the Hudson Valley's friendliest pharmacists was robbed overnight in Hopewell Junction, New York leaving store owners and employees feeling "violated."

It all started at approximately 5:30 in the morning on Tuesday when the folks at the Hopewell Drug Store were notified that the alarm at their drug store located at 410 Route 376, Suite 3, Hopewell Junction, NY, had been set off and just a few minutes later it was discovered that the drug store had been robbed.

Owners Steve and Karen confirmed the robbery on the drug store's Facebook page yesterday saying, "Today at 5:30 am, our store was broken into. This is a police matter, under investigation." The post didn't share details regarding what was taken or how much damage the store incurred but did say that the East Fishkill Police responded within two minutes of the alarm being activated.

"East Fishkill Police responded within 2 minutes of our alarm being engaged. Thank you East Fishkill Police, we are humbled by your bravery and guidance. And we are thankful for all the work you are doing."

If you are a customer of the Hopewell Drug Store the owners wanted to assure everyone that all of their customer's private information is safe and are asking everyone to please be patient with them over the next few days as they will have to deal with "inventory, insurance, contractors and providing information for the detectives." Feeling Violated But Blessed

The owners went on to say "Although we feel violated, we also feel truly blessed. Our employees are safe, the police are safe, we are safe and your private information is safe. We appreciate the outpouring of love from the community and our friends. It may take a few days to get back to business as usual."
