Here’s How to Apply to Become A New York Contact Tracer
If you are looking for a job this just might be the one you're looking for.
Over the course of the last two months, with the outbreak of the coronavirus more folks have lost their jobs they any other time I can remember over the course of my life. I think at last check some 36 million people are unemployed today, mostly due the virus outbreak.
If you or someone you know has lost their job recently and are looking for work, believe it or not New York State is hiring for a newly created position called "contact tracer."
According to News 10, New York State has announced that they are looking to hire thousands of contact tracers who will have the job of tracking down people who have came in contact with those who have been infected with COVID-19 and once they locate them, they will explain and give them information on quarantine procedures, testing referrals and direct them to community support specialists.
The job requirements are pretty minimal, as all you need to apply is, be a New York resident, have a high school diploma, be at least 18 years old, own a phone, have access to a working PC, have reliable internet and being able to speak, read and write English fluently to name a few.
The contract tracer position, as of today is a temporary job with a one year commitment. If you are hired you will need to be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week with the possibility of the position being extended longer if needed.
