I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to call Frozen 2 the most anticipated children’s movie of all time. What else even rates? The first movie grossed $1.2 billion in theaters and became a pop culture phenomenon — not to mention a merchandising juggernaut for Disney. (It’s also currently got a Broadway show to boot.) Elsa and Anna might be the company’s two most valuable characters after Mickey and Minnie Mouse. (Mickey and Minnie, I love you, but when was the last time you had a $1.2 billion-grossing movie?)

As we close in on one year to Frozen 2’s release, we’re starting to hear some new details about what the film will be. Frozen and Frozen 2 co-director Jennifer Lee spoke to Variety at the premiere of Ralph Breaks the Internet, and she offered a few tidbits about the story — it’s “less of just a sequel, it’s more of a continuation of the first story” and promised it will be “bigger, more epic” with Elsa and Anna venturing “far out of Arendelle.”

She also revealed that songwriters Bobby Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez have just delivered a song she called an “evolution” of “Let It Go.” (Whatever it is, whatever that means, she “loves” it.) And apparently the Lopezes have delivered four songs so far, with three more yet to come. That’s good; anything to get my daughter to sing something other than “Let It Go” will be extremely welcome.

Frozen 2 is scheduled to open in theaters on November 22, 2019.
