Florida Georgia Line singer Brian Kelley is a Florida native, and he is doing his part to help his home state out in the wake of massive damage inflicted by Hurricane Michael.

The country singer turned to Instagram on Saturday (Oct. 20) to share a video of himself amid the rubble left behind after the devastating category 4 hurricane made landfall on the Florida Panhandle on Oct. 10.

"Amazing day in Panama City, serving, helping with Hurricane Michael relief," Kelley says in the video above. He says it's been a "humbling" day as the community has come together to begin the process of rebuilding after the storm, which was recorded as having peak sustained winds of 155 mph when it hit near Mexico Beach.

The singer revealed that he and his wife, Brittney, have made a $5,000 donation to help fund the Sonder Project. The organization's website says it is currently focusing on "highly organized daily operation to send volunteers and supplies street by street, neighborhood by neighborhood, with direction and support from local & emergency management officials" to help jump-start relief efforts in the most devastated neighborhoods. So far, that group's fundraising has raised $34,172 of its $500,000 goal.

The couple have also launched and helped fund their own relief effort, Tribe Kelley Hurricane Relief, and Kelley has shared more posts from the ground over the past week, indicating that he's been right there in the thick of the action. Brittney also shared a video of the devastation on Friday (Oct. 19), writing, "This will take years to rebuild and even when we aren’t able to be physically present, we will have people set in motion and making a difference."

Tribe Kelley Hurricane Relief is focusing on providing meals for the community, officials and aid workers, rebuilding homes for those without home insurance and those in dire need, rebuilding local businesses and childcare centers and buying and distributing needed supplies. It has raised $24,925 of its $500,000 goal since it launched on Thursday (Oct. 18), and Kelley is asking fans to help in whatever way they can.

"We're gonna be raising as much money as we can to keep things coming back," he says. "It's gonna be a long process, so it starts with us. It starts with the team, and y'all do your part."

Hurricane Michael made the worst impact on Florida, but it later made its way inland, wreaking more devastation in parts of Georgia and also affecting areas of North Carolina and Virginia. It is the strongest hurricane on record in the Florida Panhandle, according to CNN, and the third most intense Atlantic hurricane to make landfall in U.S. history. At least 27 deaths have been attributed to Hurricane Michael as of Oct. 19, the Miami Herald reports.

Kelley isn't the only country star directly involved with the storm. The deadly hurricane also struck the home of the Luke Bryan's mother, LeClaire, and inflicted severe damage.
