Here in the Hudson Valley we've been dealing with rainy weekends for the last 8 weeks straight. One of the more popular rainy day activities in the region is heading out to your local mall.

The Poughkeepsie Galleria is always a hot destination, rain or shine, but recently some visitors have noticed a change at one of the larger stores in the mall.

Finish Line has been slowly looking like it was closing down with the gates down, boxes piled up and no merchandise on the walls.

A sign outside the store states "Closed for remodeling. We will reopen August 9th."

Now, it looks like a new store is moving in.

JD Sports To Take Over Finish Line in Poughkeepsie Galleria

The Poughkeepsie Galleria took to social media to share an update on the popular sporting goods stores.

On Facebook The Poughkeepsie Galleria explains "Finish Line is getting a fresh new look."

Finish Line will be reopening as JD Sports. The Poughkeepsie Galleria writes:

They'll still have all your favorites, including sneakers and apparel from your same favorite brands, just with a fresh new look and even more to check out.

Back in 2018 JD Sports acquired Finish Line, they maintain separate branding and operations, but they are "ultimately owned by the same parent company" according to the JD Sports website.

The Poughkeepsie Galleria says the store will be closed temporarily while it's under construction, but JD Sports should be open August 2025.
