If you've been waiting for that perfect day to get outside and enjoy a day of fishing here on one of the state's numerous ponds, lakes, or shoreline, this Saturday might be the perfect day for it. The heat is supposed to break Friday night, and Saturday is the final "Free Fishing License Day" here in Connecticut.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has held multiple events this year to get Connecticut residents outside of their home during the pandemic, and enjoying one of most popular recreational sports in the world. Numerous "Learn how to fish seminars were held throughout the Summer, and a couple of times, the state waives the fee for one-day fishing licenses.

The last "Free Fishing License Day" of 2021 is this Saturday, August 14, 2021. anyone can get a free one-day fishing license for the day by going to the DEEP's licensing website, which you can access by clicking HERE.

You will have to sign up for an account once you get to the DEEP website, but after you enter your name, address, and basic information, you are taken to the license purchase page, where the free 1 day Sport Fishing license, valid for 8/14/21, is listen in the options.
