On a typical Tuesday morning commute, things turned tragic in the Town of Lagrange.

According to the Dutchess County Sheriff's office, at approximately 7:30 in the morning, a fatal crash between two cars and a motorcycle occurred on State Route 55, near Mandalay Drive in Lagrange.

While the investigation is continuing, here's what we know from the Dutchess County Sheriff's office, 57-year-old Judith Meredith, driving a 2009 Mazda, was travelling westbound on Route 55 when the vehicle crossed over the center line and struck a motorcycle travelling eastbound. After that, the vehicle is reported to have re-entered the westbound lane, hitting a Toyota sedan driven by 23-year-old Brandon Farias of Poughkeepsie.

The motorcyclists was reported dead at the scene while Ms. Meredith was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and Mr. Farias was uninjured. The police are withholding the name of the motorcyclist until the next of kin can be notified.

At this time, no charges have been filed as driver fatigue appears to be a contributing factor. More information may be released as the investigation continues, and we will update as we get that information.
