You can't go anywhere in the Hudson Valley this year and not hear about the 50th Anniversary of the original Woodstock Festival. It is going to be an amazing weekend at the original site now known as Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. Imagine now that you get to design a poster commemorating the 50th anniversary. That is exactly what you can do by March 21st. The Peace, Love and Poster contest is giving someone the change to create a poster for the Anniversary Event.

The winner receives $2500 plus a trip to Bethel Woods during the Woodstock 50th Anniversary year celebration. Organizers of the contest are also awarding a $500 prize in each age group.

The theme which is quoted here from the contest site is "The Woodstock festival of 1969 captured the spirit of a generation and the imagination of the world.
Fifty years later, Bethel Woods seeks a poster design that will capture how this spirit community and creativity continues."  Student, Amateurs and professional alike are all encourage to submit a piece that captures Bethel's Woods mission to inspire, educate and empower individuals through arts and humanities

Everyone enjoys creating a picture why not create one for this great moment in time and be part of something celebrating the past and where we can go in the future. I am working on an idea or two of my own. If nothing else it offers a great reason to doodle at your desk. Just make sure if you do want to submit a design you do it by the March 21st deadline.
