Earth Day has never been so calmingly delicious.

If you didn't know, here's your reminder: this Friday, April 22nd, is Earth Day. There are many ways to celebrate across the Hudson Valley. Dutchess County is hosting a number of events like roadside clean-ups across the county and virtual forums about proper recycling etiquette.

In Orange County, you can visit Bear Mountain State Park and check out the zoo. They'll be making tasty treats to feed the bears on Earth Day weekend.

If you're looking for something a little more delicious for humans, then Beacon is the place to be on Earth Day.

Vegan donut shop and a popular stop on Main Street in Beacon, Peaceful Provisions is collaborating with Hudson River Hemp to give foodies an Earth Day CBD Doughnut. Peaceful Provisions writes on Instagram:

🚨 COLLABORATION ALERT❗️👉🏽 Earth Day CBD Doughnut! 🌎🍩 We joined forces with @hudsonriverhemp to bring you this chocolate CBD iced doughnut topped with chocolate cake crumbs. This earthy doughnut is made with all natural food coloring and CBD derived from locally grown hemp from @hudsonriverhemp. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate Earth Day! Available this Friday only

And the doughnut even looks like the earth! How cool is that?

Hudson River Hemp is run by four friends who grew up in the Hudson Valley and wanted to, according to their website, "save local farms, take on craft mastery in this burgeoning field of hemp and CBD, and have a great time doing it."

They own 2 hemp farms, one in Hopewell and another in Wappingers Falls, that were previously horse farms. Hudson River Hemp sells products like CBD edibles, creams, tinctures, and products for your pets.

The Peaceful Provisions, Hudson River Hemp Earth Day doughnut is only available on Earth Day.

Former Brewster Bar Now a Popular Gourmet Bakery Called 'General Bakeshop'

Back in April of 2021, I noticed some signs of life in a building I, and so many other Brewster people are familiar with. Construction was underway at a former bar known as “Norm’s.” Right around that time, I wrote an article about the bar’s history and looked forward to see what would come of the space. The building recently began it’s new chapter and I had to go down and check out the new General Bakeshop to see how the work came out and how the food was.
