Next week will be a big week for Dylan Scott and we will get to be a part of it thanks to him performing at the Dutchess County Fair on Wednesday the 21st. Dylan will be releasing an EP honoring his musical hero Keith Whitley and he will close the week with a trip to the Grand Opry circle to sing from the tribute EP and his new number 1 EP Nothing to do Town.

It was announce to day that Dylan will be releasing a seven song EP entitled An Old Memory which features 7 of the late Keith Whitely's biggest hits including "Tell Lorrie I Love Her featuring Lorrie Morgan who was Keith's wife at the time of his death. There is an amazing behind the scenes video that Dylan and his team put together that you can check out HERE. Dylan has also made a video for "Don't Close Your Eyes" which you can see HERE.

Dylan grew up with his father, a session and touring musician singing Whitley song all throughout his childhood Dylan says he learned to play guitar and write songs listening to Keith Whitley's music. He also attributes a demo he did of "Between an Old Memory and Me" being the reason he got signed to Curb Records.

Keith Whitley died suddenly in May of 1989 cause of death was reported as alcohol poisoning. Earlier this year Taste of Country reported on Keith's career and death on the 30th anniversary of his passing. (Read Story Here)

To make the EP Dylan returned to the studio that Whitley was working in at the time of his death Sound Emporium Studio in Nashville TN. Dylan was able to work with several of the same session musicians plus he had some special people join him to make the EP. Along with Lorrie Morgan he was joined by his dad on "When You Say Nothing at All". And Jesse Keith Whitley, the son of Keith Whitley lends his vocals on "I'm Over You".

Hopefully Dylan will share some of the songs from the EP next Wednesday at the Fair.
