
Dutchess County Sherriff’s Office Introduces Revamped Exhibit at Dutchess County Fair
The 179th Dutchess County Fair Kicks Off in Rhinebeck, NY
It's finally here! The Dutchess County Fair is back in town.
The fairgrounds in Rhinebeck is filled to the brim with rides, vendors and amazing food options. If you want it fried, they have it at the Dutchess County Fair.
This year the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office has updated their set up with fun and informative additions.
Dutchess County Sheriff Introduces New VR Simulator at Revamped Exhibit
This years Dutchess County Sheriff exhibit at the Dutchess County Fair has an interactive twists.
Guests can find the Dutchess County Sheriff's tent in the Infield area of the fairgrounds. It will be staffed during all fair hours and will have the opportunity to meet Deputy Sheriffs, Corrections Officers, UAS (Drone) team members and K9 units.
Also under the tent, a new Virtual Reality simulator. Guests can run through training exercises that give them a first hand look at just how much time Police Officers have to react in emergency situations.
Additionally, those who visit the Dutchess County Sheriffs exhibit can learn all about taser training with a VR zombie/robot simulation.
Demonstrations, Raffles and More with the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office
You can find the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office on the fairgrounds throughout the duration of the fair from August 19th through the 24th.
After checking out all VR simulator and equipment, make sure to stop by for their Child ID program being offered between 11 AM – 1 PM and 5PM – 7 PM every day.
The exhibit also features information on The New York State Sheriff’s Association “Blue Envelope” & “Yellow Dot” programs, Project Lifesaver, The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office & DCDS PBA NERLEEA Youth Cadet Program and more.
If you're interested in K9 demonstrations they'll be on the track near the grandstand, and this years demo will also feature the DCSO UAS Drone Unit on Thursday August 21st at 12pm and 4pm and on Friday August 22nd at the same times.
Dutchess County residents with children will also have the opportunity to win a bike with a free raffle.
