Dutchess County Fair Introduces a New Innovative Virtual Reality Attraction

The Dutchess County Fair is giving guests the opportunity to experience farming in a whole new way.

While many of us see the Dutchess County Fair as an opportunity to ride rides, enjoy delicious food and have fun with our family and friends, there is a deeper meaning behind it.

The Dutchess County Fair website explains that their mission is to promote "agriculture, horticulture, mechanical and domestic arts, fine arts, and allied sciences through education, instruction, display, and competition."

And they complete their mission by celebrating everything from agriculture to education, "through quality entertainment in a family environment."

For the 178th Dutchess County Fair, a new exhibit will give guests the chance to experience farming and agriculture from Virtual Reality.

VR Tractor Ride Along Add to The Dutchess County Fair in Rhinebeck, NY

As we prepare for the kick off of the Dutchess County Fair, the fair staff has been sharing details about what we can expect on the fairgrounds this year.

A new addition that will have folk talking is definitely the VR Tractor Ride Along. They write "This innovative virtual reality experience allows you to step into the boots of a farmer and take a ride on a tractor, all from the comfort of our fairgrounds."

How cool is that?!

So how does it work? The website explains that DCF visitors will "don a VR headset and be transported to a meticulously recreated virtual farm, where they can take control of a tractor and explore the fields."

They add:

This immersive experience is designed to be both educational and entertaining, providing a unique opportunity to learn about farming operations while enjoying the thrill of virtual reality.

Who Will Be Performing at The Dutchess County Fair This Year?

After you take a spin on the VR Tractor, maybe catch a show at the Grandstand. The Dutchess County Fair has a fantastic lineup for 2024 fair season.

On Tuesday, August 20th, Tracy Byrd will kick things off, followed by Rick Springfield on Wednesday August 21st. The free show this year is Bluffett & The Son of a Sailor Band, who will pay tribute to Jimmy Buffet.

Then, on Friday August 23rd, country stars Kamron Marlow and Connor Smith will take the Grandstand stage.
