Need a job?

If the coronavirus outbreak has cost you or someone you know their job or maybe you just looking for something different, the retail store Dollar General has announced that they are looking to hire 50,000 new employees by the end of April.

According to News 10, Dollar General is ready to nearly double it normal hiring rate for this time of year to try and meet the high demand that's happening due to the coronavirus pandemic with the addition of of as many as 50,000 employees.

Dollar General’s senior vice president, Kathy Reardon told News 10,

"We are proud to serve as one of America’s essential retailers, and we believe our customers are relying on us now more than ever to provide an affordable, convenient retail option, the Dollar General family continues to do its part in helping our customers and neighbors during these unprecedented times. We invite individuals looking to start or grow a career, as well as for those whose job may be temporarily impacted by COVID-19,to apply for opportunities to help further our mission of Serving Others.”

Dollar General did say that they are anticipating that the majority of jobs being offered today are temporary but did say that long-term career growth opportunities will also be available to some of the newly hired employees.
