A few years ago, my husband and I took a weekend trip and at one of our stops we stumbled upon this little shop in Massachusetts where they were blowing glass. It was mesmerizing and amazing. The colors, the shapes, and what seemed like magic, just took my breath away.

When you think of glass, one name comes right to the top and that's Corning. According to their history, the Corning Glass company started as the Brooklyn Flint Glass Company but after a trip up the Hudson in 1868, they relocated to Corning and became the company we know today.

It seems fitting then, that they would celebrate their 150th anniversary by taking a tour along the Hudson with the Corning GlassBarge and three of the stops are in the Hudson Valley. They will make stops in Poughkeepsie- June 8-10, Kingston June 15-17, and in Catskill on June 19.

Not only will they share the story of glassmaking they will also hold free demonstrations of glass blowing from 11 am to 6 pm daily. Each session is approximately 30 minutes and while tickets are free, they are limited.  If you want to experience this with your family and friends, make your online reservations now for PoughkeepsieKingston, or Catskill.

Don't miss it!
