If you have ever lost a pet, it is devastating, and now some companies are going to recognize it.

According to CBS 4, a few pretty big companies have decided to offer people pet bereavement days off work if their pet dies.

A software company called VM Ware, a healthcare company called Maxwell Health, and Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants all now give a few paid days off to deal with your emotions after your dog or cat passes away.

Some people think this might be a little much. If you think like that, this might change your mind, a survey found 30% of people who lost pets say they couldn't function right at work afterward. Some of the people surveyed said they felt grief and sadness for at least six months after losing an animal, so maybe this is necessary.
