Columbia County Man Arrested as a Fugitive From Justice

A 74 year-old Columbia County man, who was wanted in the state of Florida for the alleged molestation of a child, was arrested. 

The  US Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force along with New york State Police arrested Leonard A. Scoval, 74, of Livingston, for an active felony arrest warrant from the state of Florida.

Scoval was wanted for the charge of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation of a Child, victim being less than 12 years-old. The alleged incident happened in Monroe County, Florida, according to a press release.

Police did not say when the alleged molestation occurred.

Scoval was arraigned in the Livingston Court and sent to Columbia County Jail, where he is awaiting extradition.
