A new Chris Young and Lauren Alaina duet, "Town Ain't Big Enough," arrived Friday morning (July 12). As the song's title implies, the singers portray a couple of small-town exes who seemingly can't leave home without confronting pieces of the past.

Young takes lead on the first verse of "Town Ain't Big Enough," while Alaina handles the second. Together, they harmonize on the chorus: "This town ain't big enough / Your friends and mine / Run into each other all the time / Seems like there ain't no place to run / This town ain't big enough for both of us."

Young co-wrote "Town Ain't Big Enough" with Cary Barlowe, Corey Crowder and Dan + Shay's Shay Mooney, the latter of whom sings background vocals on the track. Young and Alaina debuted the song during an early June CMA Fest 2019 performance at Blake Shelton's downtown Nashville bar, Ole Red. More than likely, the song will appear on Young’s forthcoming album, Raised on Country.

"There's a lot of guests on the record that nobody really knows about yet," Young shared at a recent press event attended by The Boot and others. "So, I really do think this is the best record I've ever made."

In addition to Alaina, Young's next album will likely feature his friend and collaborator Kane Brown: Back in May, Young shared a clip on Instagram of Brown cutting his vocal parts for a still-unannounced track. Other potential album tracks that Young has teased online or in his sets include the heartbreaking ballad “Drowning” and the lighthearted party anthem “Hold My Beer, Watch This.”
